Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital includes inpatient and outpatient programs, a partial hospital program and a crisis intervention unit in the YNHH emergency department offering a comprehensive array of diagnostic capabilities and treatment options. The hospital's psychiatric services, which have consistently received high national rankings, promote family involvement. There are 70 inpatient beds for adults and adolescents, plus six medical beds reserved for psychiatric patients with complex medical problems, as well as 15 beds for children in a separate facility.

The Yale Cancer Center is one of 39 centers in the country designated by the National Cancer Institute for comprehensive cancer care. Yale researchers and physicians interact closely with leading cancer specialists around the country and the world in developing improved approaches to battling disease through the implementation of carefully constructed clinical trials. The medical care provided is some of the most advanced available anywhere—some of the treatment protocols provided are only available at the Yale Cancer Center. The center's programs are developed, implemented and evaluated through multidisciplinary collaboration among caregivers with social work, chaplain services, pain management and other health-related disciplines and support networks.

The Yale-New Haven Heart Center has recently been recognized on a national level for the exceptional cardiac care provided to its patients. YNHH has been a pioneer in providing cardiac services for half a century. The hospital has complete diagnostic capabilities such as MRI, CT scans, ultrasound scans and angioplasty and nuclear imaging. Surgical options include heart transplants, coronary artery bypass grafts, aneurysmectomy, reduction ventriculoplasty and dynamic cardiomyoplasty.
